Logic Puzzle Rainbow Town #BestOfSaturnGrab your semi-automatics, your rocket propelled grenade launchers, and your trusty machetes — it’s time to “start something” on the mean streets of Logic Puzzle Rainbow Town! Logic puzzles, also known as nonograms or Picross, are grid-based brainteasers where the goal is to form an image by correctly solving sequences in intersecting rows and columns. Picture an unholy marriage of crosswords, sudoku, and pattern deduction… you soon realize that weapons are useless in ol’ Rainbow Town — you must instead use your brains (and, optionally, the Saturn mouse) to make it out alive. This Japan-exclusive Saturn game was produced and released by Human Entertainment in early 1996 and features more than 700 unique and progressively more challenging puzzles. Easy to learn but difficult to master, puzzles start out with simple numerals, but the situation soon escalates to include primary colors and a unique color-mixing element to leave you shook. Not all hope is lost, however. In late 2024, the honorary mayor of Rainbow Town, Malenko, threw us English speakers a lifeline by fully translating this most excellent puzzle game. Play your puzzles well, and you’ll build up a nice, happy Rainbow Town. Fail, and you’re on a short ride down to Rainbow Skid Row!
