Godzilla: Shock on the Archipelago #BestOfSaturn

Developed by Scarab and published by SEGA exclusively in Japan in December 1995, Godzilla: Shock on the Archipelago is a real-time strategy game.

You control the Japanese defense forces and try to stop Godzilla and a host of other monsters while they ravage everything before them. Move tanks, take advantage of the terrain, and annihilate the monsters before they fry you!

Featuring a free map and a story mode, the game is compatible with the Saturn mouse. 2D sprites and isometric playfields are the order of the day, dressed up a bit with clips and tunes from the various Godzilla movies. As Japanese as it gets!

A Saturn fan since the beginning, Peter plays Saturn almost exclusively. For Peter, Saturn represents a moment in time where 2D games were at their best, 3D was just rising, and fascinating gaming 'firsts' were commonplace.  There are very few Saturn games that Peter cannot find some enjoyment in!
