Irréel #BestOfSaturnGold

The Saturn absolutely hums when in capable hands, and nowhere is this more apparent than in Irréel — a demo of the first Unreal game that was created from the ground up by XL2, Corvusdeux, and Ponut 64.

Downloadable since very late 2022, this piece features a solid frame rate, stunning light sourcing, positional sound, and vast open areas — and the Saturn handles it all like the champ that it is. For legal reasons this project will remain a two-level demo with no further work to be done on it, but oh my does it impress, and XL2, Corvusdeux and Ponut deserve a standing ovation. Remember kids, not all heroes wear capes.

Had this been a commercial release, it would have certainly been a #BestOfSaturnGold .
