Sound Novel Machi #BestOfSaturn
An early 1998, Japan-only Chunsoft production, Sound Novel Machi presents a “day in the life” perspective of eight characters living in the same town.
This visual novel consists of still photographs with text overlay, choices to make, and information to gather. Your goal is to complete a five-day cycle and reach a “good ending” with each of the eight characters. Your choices could lead you to “bad endings,” so be careful, and learn from your experiences…
But the draw here is that sometimes, you must rely on the actions of the other characters to move forward. In game, you occasionally have the option to “zap” in between characters, if you need the story to take a different turn — you are, in effect, playing all the stories at once. A highly intriguing concept… if you can get past the language barrier.

A Saturn fan since the beginning, Peter plays Saturn almost exclusively. For Peter, Saturn represents a moment in time where 2D games were at their best, 3D was just rising, and fascinating gaming 'firsts' were commonplace. There are very few Saturn games that Peter cannot find some enjoyment in! | |
