Pocket Fighter #BestOfSaturn
Capcom released buckets of Saturn titles, one of these being the mid-1998 Japan-only Pocket Fighters.
Utilizing the 4MB cartridge, this arcade port packs a punch — super-deformed “kids” characters from both Street Fighter and Darkstalkers make appearances, as do elements from other Capcom franchises. Collect gems and orbs during gameplay and use them to enhance your own powers or inflict damage on your opponent.
Capcom fan service is all over this title, which perhaps makes up for the much simpler gameplay than many of the firm’s more “serious” fighters. Really nice.

A Saturn fan since the beginning, Peter plays Saturn almost exclusively. For Peter, Saturn represents a moment in time where 2D games were at their best, 3D was just rising, and fascinating gaming 'firsts' were commonplace. There are very few Saturn games that Peter cannot find some enjoyment in! | |
