Saturn News Roundup: Propaganda Proto, Out Run LEGO, Kronos EmulatorLet’s take a look at a few recent headlines that Saturn fans have been talking about. Propaganda prototype revealedA person by the screen name of Allenasm posted on Reddit claiming to have a prototype for the Saturn version of an unreleased game called Propaganda. “In 1995ish I worked on a game called Propaganda for Virgin Games,” he wrote Sept. 28. “I was the Saturn programmer and the rest of the team was British/Scottish. Cleaning out basement and came across my old Saturn machine and found this final burn. I could tell so many stories about this time there, feel free to [ask me anything].” He accompanied his post with a photo showing what appears to be a copy of Bug with “tea time” written on it in magic marker. In the comments below his post, Allenasm said the game was designed by a group of people known as Tea Time Designs who sold their design to publisher Virgin Games, then joined the company to develop the game. Unseen64 describes Propaganda as “a cancelled mission-based racing game that was in development at Burst for Sega Saturn and the original PlayStation in 1996 / 1997 and it would have been published by Virgin Interactive. The gameplay was going to be somehow similar to the Driver series, in which the player could have been able to explore the city with a car to complete various tasks. It’s currently unknown why the project was canned and only few screens were found in GamePro #92.” In the comments under his post, Allenasm expressed an interest sending his prototype to someone to properly dump and preserve it. OutRun LEGO designAn OutRun playset that was submitted as a LEGO Idea earlier this year is nearing 2,000 supporters. Its creator, Jugles, submitted the design March 14 and has until Nov. 10 next year to get 5,000 supporters and stay an active project, with the ultimate goal of reaching 10,000 supporters to be considered by LEGO for full production. If it reaches 5,000 supporters, it’ll get an extra six months to attain the final goal. “I wanted to try to recreate the iconic starting scene from OutRun Stage 1 as well as giving it my own twist,” Jugles wrote in the submission. “The build consists of 1,735 bricks forming a diorama playing with perspective. The frame of the build is meant to resemble an arcade machine. They joystick is movable and linked with the car to make it possible to slightly shift the car from side to side.” His design includes the following characters: · Driver (Girl)
